School Placement

THE FULL SCHOOL PLACEMENT CONSULTANCY PROCESS EXPLAINED:

  1. ASSESSMENTS
  • After your initial meeting, your consultant will initiate a Cambridge CEM academic assessment. This can be done at home and is a computerized test. You will be given a step by step guide to ensure this process is simple and easy. The Cambridge CEM (Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring) is an organization that develops assessments and tests used primarily in educational settings to evaluate students’ academic abilities and progress.
  • Cambridge assessments are widely used in schools to support teaching and learning, as well as for admissions purposes in some educational institutions. However, results are usually retained by schools and not given to parents.
  • The results will be in number form and represent clear benchmarks in terms of prospective entry to certain schools.
  • Once we have the results from this academic assessment, you will receive a written report and we will be able to gauge your child’s academic level compared to UK independent school standards and advise on necessary preparation – including admissions tuition if needed.

2. SCHOOLS SHORTLIST

  • Based on the parameters discussed during your meeting and the results of your assessment your consultant will compile an initial schools shortlist, which is a detailed report on each school, including exam statistics, parent testimonials, entry criteria an general appraisal.
  • Your shortlist is put together based on consultation, assessment, interview and school reports, previous grades and family/child preferences. The initial schools shortlist is usually 8 schools. Once you have had time to take this away, discuss and research further you will have another meeting to discuss which five you would like to register for and discuss an order of preference.

3.VISITS

  • Your consultant will arrange a school visit schedule upon request. However, many parents choose to make visits after they have received offers to avoid disappointment. If you wish to be accompanied on your visits this can be arranged at an additional charge.
